KELLY NEWMAN

Kelly Newman is returning for her seventh year to Texas Diamonds Volleyball. She began club volleyball in 2006 with the Woodland Stars qualifying for the Junior Olympics in ’06, ‘07, and ’08. Kelly helped her team to finish 14th in the Open Division in 2008. In high school, Kelly played for Covenant Christian School’s varsity team from 2007-2011 and was named MVP of the team her junior and senior year. The team went to State her freshman and sophomore years; she earned first team All-State honors in all four seasons and 9 All-Tournament awards during her time at Covenant.

Following high school, Kelly earned a full ride volleyball scholarship to attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette. There she played both outside hitter and right side. In 2012, she received an All-Tournament Award at the Ragin Cajun Classic. In December 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Kelly brings high level playing experience, coaching experience, and recruiting knowledge to our program.
